Sea World is the best...

We took the kids to Sea World for spring break this week. It was a great getaway. Little did we know that by purchasing one all day ticket for each of us, they would be good for the rest of the year. (only 4 excluded days) This is awesome! What a great opportunity to be able to visit Sea World several times during a long weekend retreat or go back several times throughout the year.

I know that many times we choose not to visit the theme parks due to the expense for 5 of us to go. Now we can go serveral times and just pay the $12 to park.

Here are a couple of pics to get you "in the mood" for vacation. :)

Shop Hop is Coming

If you didn't get to participate in the Shop Hop last year, your time is here! The "Shop Hop" will run from April 14th thru May 2nd. Pre-Sale passports and tote bags will begin March 16th thru the 29th.

Check out the website www.beattheheathop.com for photos and more information.

There will be great specials, giveaways, make n' takes and much more. The event will end on National Scrapbook Day, 5/2/09, with some great events. Be sure to watch for emails and blog posts for more information.

Photo Scanning Event

Thanks so much to Tracy Michon from Heritage Makers for bringing the high speed scanner to the store. We had some ladies bring their photos by for some speed scanning! We have another "scan event" scheduled for April 11th from 3-9pm. We would really like to see a fantastic turn out for this event. The cost is $.19 per scan. The best thing is that 100 photos can be scanned in 15 minutes.

This is a great time to dig out all those old photos that we have in photo albums or boxes that we don't have copies of. Think of those old baby albums, wedding albums or old albums that we inherited from a loved one.

It is a very small expense compared to the potential, never to be seen again loss. Take if from me, I nearly lost 40 years of original photos in our store fire. I was fortunate enough to recover most of them, but they all needed to be scanned in order to be saved. Tracy helped me with this last summer.

Reservations are recommended but not required. It will help, if you are on a shedule that day. Call the store at 480-832-1084 and reserve your space. Cost is $5. When you arrive at the store, you will receive $5 in store credit for participating in the "scanning event". You will pay Tracy for the cost of your scanning.

Happy Scanning!

Did You see my Ziplining photo?

As some of you may know, I just got back from a Cruise to Cozumel and Belize. I had the wonderful opportunity to zipline along the canopy top of the jungle in Belize. I have attached one of the pics on the site. I have already sent 200 photos to be printed. I can't wait to get scrappin'! If you would like to join me, I will be hosting the crop in the store on 3/6 and 3/7 from 5:30 pm until 1:00 am both nights. There are only 8 spots available. Cost for a spot is only $5. You also get 10% off in the store all night. Be sure to call now, 480-832-1084, space is limited.

I will be bringing all my Cruise pics. Get ready for some Crazy Scrappin!

Let's get some Scrapbook Chatter Going!!!

I am one of three owners of a Scrapbook Store in Mesa, AZ called "A Scrappin' Affair". I am starting this blog today hoping that I can gain some insight about what "scrapbookers" are looking for in a local store. I also want to provide project ideas, new product information, sales and promotions and a place for general scrapbook related chatter!

Our Story... Barb, Carrie and I opened "A Scrappin' Affair" on 9/20/07. Everything was moving right along. Then at 3am on 12/20/07, we received a call that no store owner wants to receive! There was a 3 alarm fire at the strip mall where our store was located. Needless to say, our store was completely destroyed. However, we don't give up easily....we located another store on 12/25/07 that was for sale and made an offer. We closed escrow on 2/14/07 and re-opened "A Scrappin' Affair" on 2/15/07.

We love scrapbooking and the people that we have met in the store have now become extended family!

I would like to hear from you? What is your scrapbooking story? What things do you like/dislike about the last scrapbook store you were in?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Nichole.
