Let's get some Scrapbook Chatter Going!!!

I am one of three owners of a Scrapbook Store in Mesa, AZ called "A Scrappin' Affair". I am starting this blog today hoping that I can gain some insight about what "scrapbookers" are looking for in a local store. I also want to provide project ideas, new product information, sales and promotions and a place for general scrapbook related chatter!

Our Story... Barb, Carrie and I opened "A Scrappin' Affair" on 9/20/07. Everything was moving right along. Then at 3am on 12/20/07, we received a call that no store owner wants to receive! There was a 3 alarm fire at the strip mall where our store was located. Needless to say, our store was completely destroyed. However, we don't give up easily....we located another store on 12/25/07 that was for sale and made an offer. We closed escrow on 2/14/07 and re-opened "A Scrappin' Affair" on 2/15/07.

We love scrapbooking and the people that we have met in the store have now become extended family!

I would like to hear from you? What is your scrapbooking story? What things do you like/dislike about the last scrapbook store you were in?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Nichole.

i love the store!! I am a part-time scrapper but have not been able to try or learn a lot of techniques until I took some classes at the store. I have taken several classes over the past few months and the ladies are great. Nicole, Barb & Carrie are so "crafty", they make it easy to learn and the ideas are fun. Best wishes for a great 2009 and see you in the store or in a class!!

Great store...great website...great bloggers...hmmmm..do you see a pattern here?? I am from Oklahoma, I live in Illinois and am currently working in Mesa! I travel (A LOT) with my job so I see a LOT of scrapping/stamping stores. I love to go to stores that have attractive layouts and lots of variety in stock. I also really appreciate stores that let you take pictures of samples they have. I hate to get home with a treasure trove and then not be able to remember what all the goodies are for or how to use them!!

So glad to see you blogging. Scrapping was my first love, stamping my obsession, & mixed-media my way to incorporate all that I love in creativity.

I love an eclectic mix of supplies that allows me to stretch my imagination...that's why I usually peruse a wide selection of stores.

But I love ASA because they take the time to develop relationships. And the Cricket class...everyone talks about having them ASA is the only place doing it. It was wonderful.

Woo Hoo, come on Shop Hop!

I'm really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.
